Meet the artist
I am Kyano Yazdanpanah, a British-Iranian contemporary artist merging digital precision with raw physical craftsmanship from my studio in the UK.
My practice is deeply shaped by my dual heritage. Growing up in Iran, I was immersed in a culture where the visual depiction of the human form is strictly restricted, yet our rich classical poetry openly celebrates intimacy, love, and the deep philosophy of the body.
This taught me to look for the hidden depth in things, and to appreciate how powerful the unseen can be. Moving to the UK allowed me to give those poetic concepts a physical, unfiltered reality, bridging the lyrical metaphors of my roots with modern, industrial execution.
Through my multi-layered wooden relief art, I explore the boundaries of figurative eroticism. By stripping away colour and working exclusively in a monochromatic greyscale palette, I shift the focus entirely to form, depth, and shadow. Every layer is meticulously designed, laser-cut, painted, and hand-assembled in my studio, transforming flat wood into a tactile, sensual landscape.
My work captures the elegance of the human form through a stark, contemporary lens. Ultimately, I create art for everyone, inviting you to look beyond the surface and discover the structural beauty of our shared human connection.
